Sonia Altizer

Sonia is the head of our research program on monarch parasites. She is an assistant professor at the Odum School of Ecology at UGA. She has been studying monarchs and their parasites for the past 10 years.

Becky Bartel

Becky is a post-doc in the Altizer lab. She manages the website and public relations. She is also using the MonarchHealth data set to look at the relationship between local breeding densities of monarchs and parasite infection rates.

Mike Maudsley

Mike is a research professional at the Odum School of Ecology and the Altizer Lab manager. He is a trained entomologist and is involved in just about every project going on in the lab.

Andy Davis

Andy graduated with a PhD at UGA in the Wildlife Ecology and Management Program in the Warnell Forestry School. He designed the website and contributes to numerous papers on OE.

Jaap de Roode

Jaap is a former post-doc in the Altizer lab and is now an assistant professor at Emory University. He also studies OE parasites and contributes to the MonarchHealth project.

Meagan Weathers

Meagan is a senior at UGA from Appling, GA. She is a Biological Sciences major and Spanish Minor. In the Altizer Lab, she assists with the Monarch Health Project and other current research experiments in the lab pertaining to monarchs and Oe.

Amy Wright

Amy is an undergraduate researcher in the Altizer Lab. She is double majoring in Biology and Ecology at the University of Georgia. Her interests include marine biology, animal behavior, and conservation.
